News: 2009 Pilipino Inter Club Open Championship
News July 18, 2009 [Saturday]

Romy Francisco - Champion
2009 Pilipino Inter Club Open

When SWAGGERS get together to show some muscle, they just get the job done right!!
Our very own, Romy Francisco squelched all doubt and rumblings about who was going to be the champion that day. He finished with a gross 79 to once again be crowned the PICO Champion.

The new back to back Champion claims his prize and really made it look easy.
Lito DeGuzman captured the closest to the pin.

The course was rocked with a triumphant yell late in the day as Peter Hollnsteiner proclaimed, "First time in my life!!! Woohoo!! I finally got the long drive, baby!". He summoned those Popeye-like arm power to fire the longest drive of the event! And just to seal this moment into memory, our fearless leader, Kelly Concepcion awarded some ProV1 balls to commemorate it.

Team SWAG finished third place for the event. A great showing of team players led by Dan DeGuzman who rallied Cash, Z-man and Lito on the eve of the event so team SWAG could have a good participation at this event. No stones were left unturned as he called out to Rod Castillo to go into battle for SWAG. Rod churned out a respectable net 79 to boost the team.

Once again, we may not know what lies in the future but with golf, SWAG will always get together and work together to create one that makes everyone look back and say, "How do these guys do it!"

Thank You Swaggers.....From Peter H. (SWAGGC President)
News September 14, 2007

I want to thank everyone for making 2007 another successful SWAG season. Average tournament attendance was at an all time high and we continue to develop into a close knit group of friends. Val and Ed blessed with great weather and made sure we all got to our destinations safely.

Congratulations to Lino Emnas and Ferdie Umahon for winning the Tour Championship in their respective divisions. Congratulations to all the members who won individual tournaments as well. This is probably the first year in which we didn't have a repeat winner during the regular season which goes to show that the playing field is very even w/ our handicap system. Our level of play has certainly improved with many members carrying much lower GHIN handicaps.

Special thanks to the SWAG Board for their guidance, Cary for scoring/handicaps, Z-man for our website and Orly for the tedious treasurer task. (Attached is our bank reconciliation and cash position.)

We have two remaining events this year being our Ryder Cup outing next Saturday and our Awards Night celebration on November 10th at the Glenn Ridge Country Club.

If you're interested in participating in the Ryder Cup and haven't signed-up yet, please do so now so we can finalize the number of players. Team Captains this year will be Pete Clemente and Lino Carin (Mga Bisaya lang daw and pipiliin niya). Venue is Morgan Hill with an early 8 AM tee time. Post celebration will be at Mac's house at 53 Fernwood Rd., Rockaway, NJ, 07866. We will have catered food and beverages of which SWAG will allocate $250 and the balance will be subsidized by the losing team. Members who can't play are all invited to Mac's house for the post celebration.

Awards Night will be on Saturday, November 10th. All members are encouraged to save the date and attend with their partners as this will be a fun filled event at a new venue. More details to follow.

Mabuhay ang SWAG!
Peter H.
(President)

2007 Season Almost Over.. ....
News Ausgust 15, 2007

Swaggers:
Can you believe our 2007 regular season is over? What an incredible year we had having 10 different winners.

See attached 2007 SWAG Final Tour Points Standings. Congratulations to Cary for taking first place beating out Mac in a tie-breaker in-spite of his valiant effort last Saturday at Riverview.

Day one of our tour championship will be at High Bridge on Saturday, September 8th and day two at Neshanic Valley on Sunday, September 9th. Sign-up now. Like Cary said in an earlier email today, the championship rounds are for everyone even if you didn't have enough games to qualify for either Class A or B. Each game is a separate tournament with individual trophy winners so sign-up.

So who's going to step-up this year and deny B2B of his aspirations to three-peat? Anything's possible so long as you peak at the right time. Good luck!

Peter H.
