Events: 2010 General Meeting
|
|
With all the golf gadgets and goodies unwrapped from the Christmas past, it's time to put them to use!
Hello 2K10!! Swaggers, let the party begin!!
The big question is are YOU ready? Have you been rubbing tiger balm on those creaky joints? Taking ginseng extract religiously? Getting a rubdown after every driving range session? Or simply taking it easy in that lazyboy chair and trusting the golf gods to bestow you with herculean power to be # 1 this year?
Everyone has their agenda. So let's get together and map out the 2K10 plan. Bring your ideas. Introduce your new members. Discuss and be awed by this year's GC line-up.
Say hello to your friends whom you haven't seen in a while. Bring along your checkbook (or cash). Break bread and share a laugh or two. Bring a wine bottle or case of beer. Place a bet on the superbowl lottery.
Bamboo Grill is surely ready for us! Let's get the party rolling !!

Events: 2009 SWAG AWARDS NIGHT
|
|
November 14, 2009 October 21, 2009
Fellow Swaggers, Bamboo Grill, thru the kindness of Lito de Guzman has given us a $500 discount off the cost of our awards night party. In addition, our SWAG Champion, Lito de Guzman, is also providing the lechon free of charge.
However, as you know from our last Treasurer's report, we have a shortfall in our revenue department this year. We will need an extra $1,000 to fund this final SWAG event. And so here is the decision that I, along with the planning committee came up with. We will charge a very fair amount of $25 to every attending member and his partner. If you come without a partner, you will pay the same amount, too. We encourage you to bring guests but we will charge them $25 also.
On behalf of SWAG GC. its officers and members, I would like to thank Lito in advance and encourage every member to attend this traditionally exciting event. As a reminder, the event date is November 14th at 7pm at the Latin Room of Bamboo Grill.
Thank you. Kelly Concepcion SWAG President

|
Swaggers,
Happy New Year! mark your calendar, Saturday, February 2nd for our 2008 inaugural meeting which will be held at Pandan Restaurant at 6 PM. Dinner will be served with a partial Swag subsidy. Detailed agenda to follow.
If any of you would like to sponsor new candidates for Swag membership (or if we have any returning ex-members), please let me or a Swag officer know ahead of time and if accepted, please ask them to come to our inaugural meeting for introduction. Just remember that we're looking for avid golfers, regardless of handicap, who will actively participate in outings and bond with the group.
If any of you have issues that you would like to discuss with the group, please let me or any Swag officer know and if the Swag Board feels your issue(s) are valid, we will present to the group for a possible vote. Like everything else in a democracy, majority rules.
If any of you want to suggest new golf course venues, please email Jimmy, Cary and Gerry A.(Tour Coordinating Committee). They are in the process scheduling tour dates and selecting courses for 2008.
Other issues to be discussed are venues for 2008 two day tour championship, 2008 Awards Night, setting 2008 membership dues, subsidies, Ryder Cup tournaments with other golf groups, etc.
Finally, I'm organizing a 3 night/4 day Swag (non-sanctioned) Memorial Day Weekend golf trip to Ocean City, Maryland. We're hoping to get 20 Swaggers and below are the courses and tee times.

Events: What a Night to Remember:: 2007 Awards Night
|
|
>>> Nov. 10, 2007
Swaggers,
The 2007 Award Dinner Party was a success. The beautiful setting that Glen Ridge CC offered was just perfect for the occasion at hand. On behalf of the Swag Board I would like to thank those who contributed their time, talent & treasure unselfishly especially the fabulous music of DJs Vic Paragas and Jojo Punzalan, Philip Hollnsteiner's photography, Emcee extraordinaire, Lino Emnas, special invocation of Cash Castillo, Trophy specialists Ferdie Umahon & Mon delos Reyes, great speeches of Pres.Pete Hollnsteiner, Ria Hollnsteiner's SWAG program design and Lulu Castillo and Peachy Trias' help as welcome committee.
We also acknowledge the special assistance of Dante Beltejar and Melvin Go in the music department, friends of Mac Fojas, Cathy Alonzo & Kit Villasis who helped in the award distribution ceremonies. We were delighted to see Lady Swaggers Connie Aguilera, Wilma Amaba, Felicia Arago, Flor Beltejar, Imee Carin, Lulu Castillo, Elma Castillo, Betty Clemente, Violet Go, Ria Hollnsteiner, Suzette Napuli, Mel Paragas, Vilma Punzalan, Tessie Roxas, Peachy Trias, Aileen Umahon and Elsa Deniega. Special guests were Susi Hollnsteiner, Lisa Veluz, Gabi (Philip's cousin), Danny & Malou Lipat, and DI Alain.
Confirmed Swaggers with partners who came solo were Cary Africa, Jimmy Gochuico, Dan DeGuzman, and Jojo Sanchez. And those who originally planned to come by themselves were Swaggers Romy Francisco and Alex Maranon.
It was indeed a typical Swag family celebration with lots of laughter and dancing throughout the evening and everyone coming together to make it happen. The challenge ahead of us now is to make sure we have a 100% attendance next time. As always, we will try not to ask what SWAG club can do for us but ask what we can do for SWAG.
As everyone will soon follow posting their own pictures on the web, let us not forget to thank Mr. Z, Andy Zapata for the tireless effort he is putting in to make our website as beautiful and impressive as it is today. It was a privilege to have served as this year's awards dinner event coordinator.

Events: 1st Jun Bada Cup Open Invitational
|
|
>>> Nov. 4, 2006
WhO’s D’MAN !!!!!
Don’t tell me that I did not warn you. I would like to thank our host Jun Bada for inviting us on the 1st Jun Bada Cup held on Nov 4, 2006 at the Architects Golf Club.
It was a cold Saturday morning but the sun was out and the players’ adrenaline was keeping everyone warm enough to endure 18 holes of golf competition. They tried but fell short. They scratched but I was left unscathed. They flexed but I did not bend. They threw everything at me but I was unbreakable. Jun greeted me that morning as if he had a premonition that they were all playing for second place. There were some serious wannabees who tried to spice things up on the front nine. Mon with a 40, Lino C. with 42, Oca and Beda tying me with 39, but golf is 18 holes. They could not sustain their first half performance and I turned up the heat after the turn with 2 birdies on the back nine. The icing on the cake was my 18th hole birdie to close out at 37.
Lino E. always asks me to bring my A game but I guess these guys needs to bring their triple A game if they want to compete with me next year. I already told you guys that I don’t like playing in cold weather because this cools my game, stiffens my back and hurts my tennis elbow. I will excuse myself from playing the rest of the year so that I do not damper everyone spirit too much. Everyone can redeem some self confidence in your game knowing that I will not be there to dominate again. Now I know the feeling of why Tiger needed to take a break from golf, to give others a chance to win. So keep on practicing and I will welcome all wannabees again next year. In the meantime, I will enjoy the money that you graciously passed on to me and eat a sumptuous dinner at Pandan.
Thank you again to Jun Bada for the good food and company after the round, those were really good steaks. See attached file for complete scores.
Labaaaan.
Cary B2B Champion and D’Man
